Whale Wars is documentary-style an American reality television series. The show is shown on the Animal Planet cable channel. The program is starrer by Paul Watson. Whale Wars - Viking Shores begins with scenic shots of the Faroe Islands. Paul I is founder of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
An 18 island is archipelago about halfway between Iceland and Norway. It is a good vacation spot with rugged coastlines, green pastures, quaint towns and more than 20 beaches. The reality TV show documents the efforts of Watson and his marine conservation group Sea Shepherd to get between the whales and the Faroese who hunt them.
The program follows events on the vessel Steve Irwin as the group attempts to deter the hunting of Minke, Humpback and Fin whales in the Southern Ocean, Mediterranean Sea, and North Atlantic. ‘Whale Wars’ series has used television as a platform to heighten awareness of Sea Shephard’s cause -- ‘Viking Shores’ is an even more self-conscious production because the Faroese are playing to the cameras as much as Watson and his crew.
